PS4 Update Notes (13 MAR 2018)

Our programmers have been hard at work on fixes for the party system and server performance issues. This patch should greatly improve the experience of both! Also included are some new customization options, map bug fixes, and general game bug fixes. This update sets the stage for our upcoming new map that you can expect very soon!

New Features
  • Added voice playback and transmit volume controls for PS4
  • PS4 servers now have unique names
  • Enemy weapon support added to the MySoldier menu
  • Head and Voice customization options are now in the MySoldier menu

Map Fixes
  • Fix for grenades and flashes having no effect in cabinet area on Hydra
  • Fix for steel beam penetration on Hydra
  • Fix for penetration values on fountain on Hydra
  • Change to the Hydra server room floor to have a more accurate footstep sound
  • Added blocking volumes to the arcade cabinet in Hydra to block grenades from passing through
  • Fixed minor collision issue on Hospital
  • Fixed Hydra bulletproof glass to make it bulletproof
  • Fixed visual bug on Intercept
  • Fixed cabinet penetration issue on Hydra at OBJ site

KNOWN ISSUES
  • If a member of a party leaves during a game that party may be split up. Backing out to the main menu and re-joining a game will fix this.

No camo unlocked via weapon challenges will stay on once you join a match. Only the "free" camos will stick. Was this addressed in the recent update?

As some may know, I once ran a stats site that was a remake of the old DRAAT site from 2.x. I left AAPG for a while and stopped developing the site. I let the domain expire (which was promptly bought by an admin at ACI) and have no interest in continuing collecting stats. If anyone is interested, I can send you the source for the player query and server query services we ran. Ditch it, make it better - up to you. You'll just need a rather large DB and some web dev skills to make it look pretty.

Is 60fps coming to standard PS4? I just wanted to know if the devs are working on this? no disrespect in any kind of way, (I LOVE THIS GAME) but it's not like AAPG is a beautiful in terms of graphics, holds massive 60 player battles with vehicles or anything like that. I'm not a developer and I know this is not my field of expertise, but is it really that hard? Im sure 60fps on regular ps4's is possible.

Hey guys i've noticed there's a handful of discord servers by the 911 crew, 12oz, GOD, and a few others that are made up of just a few isolated AAPG players. In an effort to bring more people to play together, maybe get some pugs going, and just meet new and old AAPG players, we'll be opening up our Discord to anyone or any team/group who wishes to have a place to hang out.

I'll be happy to grant admin privileges to group leaders/individuals, and add voice and chat channels as needed. Why have dozens of tiny team discords when we can have a large, well organized one? We also have a bot that allows for music playing, memes, and automated commands to keep everything running smoothly.

Sound carry/noise vs fairness

So, it's come to my attention after playing with multiple groups and individuals of "I'm/we're the best" that the main and overwhelming way to become top dog... is to use a superhuman hearing headset, or worse buy a studio one were you can individually separate the different strains of sound so you can always hear the footsteps.. I've also been around when these same people need to charge their headset and ergo play at 'human' ability... where-in their ability to aim instead of wait around corners when hearing an approach actually mattered.(went form 20-3 averages to 6-5 basic play) I can tell you my main strategy for such ppl is camp during firefights when they're busy and wait on them to slip by listening for me.
The crews where the guy with the great mic calls out where his teammates need to look while dead. I know for myself you can hear basically all over Redline by standing near the elevator, tell which tunnel slappy feet goes down all the way to the bottom stairs on Rock tunnel or Blue, ect.
My question is, can nothing be done to dampen the sound carry or make it more fair? I know our soldiers might have noise canceling headsets for shooting with now days, but the average insurgent grunt does too? The casual players don't always know how sound reliant the "best player's" are nor should ppl be paying to win here. In RL your not hearing much of anything in a dog fight or after you've fired your first few rounds off and your ears are ringing. I'm not recovering at the shooting range from ripping a clip of AK rounds off... especially not in under four minutes.

Just wondering cause with the game battles and all you want to get in it's going to start to significantly show when mediocre players basically listen to win.... Not that that's not the case now, just more ppl might start to realize it.

I used to play America's Army way back probably 10 to 13 years ago and it was cool. I just started playing it again and it seems like people think you are hacking all the time. Does the game still use Punk Buster like it did? I was in a server and got three kills one guy twice and then they kicked me because they said I had no recoil. I was prone on all 3 kills. How much recoil should I have? I was just wondering if this is going to happen a lot? You get a couple kills and then they just kick you? Don't sound like much fun to me. Maybe I just picked the wrong server.

You have to manually change your settings such as Sensitivity, Volumes, and Controls every time you load up the game now. They are no longer saved. Please fix this. And how is it that y'all break something new every time you update the game?

DDos attacks in Asia / Pacific

Is this ever going to be given some priority? All severs in Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Japan and constantly and consistently intentionally crashed. They are unplayable if you want to play an entire match.

Worse is that it's been happening for well over a year and nothing. Hardly even an acknowledgement of the problem. Until of course the official Australian servers were spun up and hit immediately.

Again, imagine if ever North American server was affected. Imagine that player base been unable to play! Get some resources behind this and fix it!
